In May, representatives from SOL Baltics took part in a learning mobility in sunny Milan, supported by the Erasmus+ programme. The purpose of the study trip was to explore environmentally sustainable cleaning technologies, gain insights into the implementation of management standards and certifications in international companies, and deepen knowledge of infection control procedures.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

showcased 21 products competing for the title of \u201cProduct of the Year 2025″<\/a><\/strong>. The competition highlights innovative products that stand out in terms of quality, reliability, environmental friendliness, efficiency, ergonomics, and cost-effectiveness. The exhibition featured a wide range of product categories \u2013 from robotic vacuum cleaners and smart mopping systems to mosquito control devices and ergonomic window cleaning gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the jury and unanimously agreed by the learning group, the main prize went to the i-Walk<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 a device designed to support ergonomic working conditions and sustainability in the cleaning sector. The i-Walk reduces physical strain as well as water and chemical usage by up to 70% compared to manual cleaning. The manufacturer, iTeam, has earned a high Silver level rating from EcoVadis, confirming its strong commitment to sustainability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

At the exhibition, Helge Alt, a representative from SOL\u2019s long-time partner Puhastusekspert, also gave a presentation, sharing knowledge about research in the cleaning sector and work ergonomics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the trade fair, participants also gained a first-hand look at how cleaning services are organised in Italy. The maintenance of public spaces was highly efficient \u2013 cleaning was often done quietly and discreetly even during the day. The group also observed the cleaning of large glass roofs and were introduced to a variety of technical solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The learning mobility concluded with a visit to Italy\u2019s largest private hospital, which operates in partnership with a university and is actively committed to reducing environmental impact. The hospital uses ISO 14001 and EMAS environmental management systems and manages cleaning for approximately 300,000 m\u00b2. Participants were able to observe the maintenance of technical areas, patient wards, and operating rooms. A special highlight was meeting the hospital\u2019s therapy animals \u2013 monkeys who contribute to patient recovery.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The experiences from the Milan learning mobility and cleaning fair provided SOL representatives with valuable points of comparison and fresh ideas to consider for SOL Baltics. The mobility confirmed that effective, ergonomic, and eco-friendly solutions are becoming the norm in the cleaning sector.<\/p>\n\n
